CLOSURE DATE FOR APPLICATIONS 29 FEBRUARY 2008

The Richard Tauber Prize for Singers was created in 1950 by the Anglo-Austrian Music Society in memory of Richard Tauber, one of the world’s greatest singers. It has been awarded 28 times.


The competition is for outstanding young singers nearing the end of their studies or just beginning their professional careers.


Preliminary auditions will be held in London and in Vienna in April. The dates for the London auditions are 15, 16 and 17 April. The Public Final Audition will be held at Wigmore Hall on
4 June 2008
and will be decided by a distinguished jury before leading representatives of the musical world.
